This is us with the judge after he accepted Esther's paperwork and she was officially re-adopted. This all occurred on National Adoption Day with about 14 other families finalizing their adoptions. It is called re-adopted because Esther has already been adopted by us, it is just that our state now officially recognized her as our child and she will receive a U.S. birth certificate listing us as her parents.

This is our family being sworn in under oath and questioned regarding our future care for Esther. All the other families that day had legal representation. We were a little nervous as we represented ourselves. This reduced the fees for this last part of the adoption process quite significantly:)

This is Esther frollicking in the aisles waiting our turn to be called forth. Obviously, she was not a bit nervous!!

This is the fam on the court house steps. When we entered, the court house was just packed with all sorts of people from the area celebrating adoption. They had banners everywhere, cookies served, social workers, lawyers, case workers, foster care families...lots of people involved and happy to be celebrating such a positive day!
And of course at any big celebrated event, you must have the local beauty on hand. Ruthie was thrilled to have a picture with almost princesses!!
