A blast from her past...

When we first got Esther's referral, I sent a package to Esther's orphanage with gifts and a camera and asked if the foster mom might take some pictures with Esther around where she spent her first 10 months. Here is a small selection.

This is a neighbor boy with Esther on the street market riding on a toy.


This is a neighbor brother and sister in Esther's apartment complex helping her walk. You can see that these apartments are quite compact with many entrances near each other.


This is Esther's foster mom squatting with her in the plaza in front of the apartment complex. We saw many plazas like this in China where the local people from the surrounding apartments would gather at night and exercise and socialize in the cool of the evening.
