So, a little info. about the city of her birth. Quite lush and green isn't it? Robert thinks with mosquitos that would lead us to taking Malaria medication. Anyway, Cenxi City is considered more of village status by China standards as it has a population of about 250,000 (metropolitan Tri-City size). When you consider China has over 1.3 billion people, Cenxi is quite small.
The photo you see above is from a mountain top over looking the city. I am told by the Hope and Grace coordinator that Cenxi City is one of the least polluted Chinese cities that she has visited. Yeah! I believe she is referring to air quality, as most of China's bigger cities have smog issues due to major air pollution.

The top money makers in her city are: (let's do our David Letterman top 3 countdown) #3 Growing Anise Seed (This is a very popular snack and flavoring in all of Asia. It is the seed that gives black licorice its flavor.) #2 Growing Chinese Cinnamon (It has been raised in Cenxi for over 200 years.) And finally, #1 Of course, the world famous, Cenxi Red Granite. (Robert has found countertop companies that carry it all over the U.S.) Just in case you wondered, we are not planning a kitchen remodel any time soon.
So, there you have it! Trivia that will not appear on "Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader."

Karst, Karst, it's all about the limestone baby. Red granite is nice, but to see the limestone towers, the sinkholes and the caverns. That's geology....And did I mention that Karst topography is big with Hydrogeologist superheros?
By the way, you don't have a link to Tales of AlpacaRob, what gives?
Did I mention that it was warm in the field today. It got up to 90 degrees today....Hope the open house goes well.
