We just got our computer set up here in Nanning. We had a 4 hour adventurous ride from Guilin with the locals on the bus. They make a 10 minute stop in the middle to stretch your legs and go to the bathroom. I was pretty nervous about that part, so I didn't drink all morning so I could make it to the 10 minute stop. Nanning is a very big and modern looking city from the down town view. They have a new super Walmart they are opening in the downtown area that must have 4 or 5 stories. The terrain here is mountainous and the climate tropical. We passed miles and miles of corn fields on our way here believe it or not? Little shanty towns dotted along the way with many farming families. No wonder the local people call the adoptive babies "lucky babies."
Our guide says that Esther will be driven in from Cenxi on Monday morning, so we will not see her until afternoon. Poor thing...she will be on a 5 hour bus ride and then handed over to us. It will be a chaotic day on Monday. Please pray for her and us before you go to bed on Sunday night, as we will probably be getting her sometime around 10pm Tri-City time.
Tomorrow is a free day for us. Our guide informs us we will be going to the Walmart to buy snacks and water. We also hope to visit the local Minority Museum and learn more about the Zuaong people since Esther is most likely from that minority. We will meet the other family who is adopting from Esther's orphanage in just a few hours. That's all to report for now. I'm getting nervous as our time draws near...
